About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Play a key role in the technical management and delivery of projects, often as part of multidisciplinary teams for planning, feasibility studies, detailed design and construction activities.
- Contribute to project teams for tailings storage facilities and waste rock management, including surface water management, stability analyses, preparation of conceptual reports, dam safety reviews, GISTM compliance audits, construction planning, water balance calculations, planning of tailings deposition activities and breach analyses of embankments.
- Support development of client relationships at national and international levels using internal and external networks.
- Mentor and train junior GHD staff.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hold a university degree in engineering; a graduate degree is an asset.
- Experience designing mine waste management structures, including preparation and writing of design reports.
- More than 5 years of relevant experience.
- Hold (or be in the process of obtaining) a professional engineering licence and be a Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a major asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Energetic, team-oriented individual able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to constantly changing requirements and priorities.
