About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Be responsible for leading technical teams on projects ranging from small to large scale
- Work within GHD’s broader global tailings and dams community on planning, investigation and design projects for tailings storage facilities (TSFs)
- Share knowledge through training
- Prepare proposals for selection of exploration drillhole locations
- Design mining tailings dams, including foundations and embankment stability analyses
- Lead geotechnical investigations
- Develop client relationships nationally and internationally
- Mentor and train other staff members
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in engineering (civil or geotechnical)
- Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering preferred
- Hold a professional engineering licence (P.Eng.) and be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Substantial experience (more than 16 years) in tailings and mining waste engineering, ideally in a consulting environment; relevant postgraduate qualifications are preferred
- Bilingual in English and French
