About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Be responsible for leading technical teams on projects ranging from small to large scale
Work within GHD’s broader global tailings and dams community on planning, investigation and design projects for tailings storage facilities (TSFs)
Share knowledge through training
Prepare proposals for selection of exploration drillhole locations
Design mining tailings dams, including foundations and embankment stability analyses
Lead geotechnical investigations
Develop client relationships nationally and internationally
Mentor and train other staff members

Requirements

What you’ll need

University degree in engineering (civil or geotechnical)
Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering preferred
Hold a professional engineering licence (P.Eng.) and be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
Substantial experience (more than 16 years) in tailings and mining waste engineering, ideally in a consulting environment; relevant postgraduate qualifications are preferred
Bilingual in English and French
