About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Approve materials in accordance with plans and specifications;
  • Analyze test results and interpret findings;
  • Manage material quality control assignments;
  • Monitor ongoing construction site work, as well as non-conformities and corrective actions;
  • Travel to construction sites for inspection and technical assessment;
  • Coordinate on-site inspections and verify construction and rehabilitation works for road infrastructure, buildings, and bridges/other civil structures;
  • Follow up on billing and supervise technical staff assigned to construction sites;
  • Identify gaps in existing processes, systems and procedures and use established change management programs to address them;
  • Prepare progress and final reports;
  • Assist with client management on behalf of more senior commercial staff.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering;
  • Minimum 11 years of proven experience in geotechnical and materials engineering;
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) for at least 11 years;
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written;
  • Hold an ASP Construction card;
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomy, resourcefulness and a team-oriented attitude.
