About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a dynamic team of Emergency Response/Preparedness and environmental professionals
- Mentor and guide the team while managing environmental emergencies
- Collaborate closely with clients and agencies for effective response and resolution
- Engage in business development and client expansion activities
- Manage environmental sampling and monitoring programs
- Spearhead regional visibility initiatives
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies and procedures
- Evaluate the capabilities of staff and identify development needs
- Develop and implement functional strategy for the department
- Manage client relationships and maintain customer satisfaction
- Oversee data collection and analysis activities
- Prepare documents that are highly visible, such as press releases and critical audience speeches
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Environmental emergency response and preparedness
- Environmental site assessments and remediation
- 7+ years of Project Management Experience
- Track record of revenue growth through Business Development activities
- Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials
- Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, team player, and a leader
- Strong mentorship and coaching skills to assist with the development of junior staff
- Strong delegation skills to ensure that emergency projects are staffed and managed appropriately
- Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time (mostly local, some regional)
- Being on-call 24/7/365 and responding to call-outs and requests for technical assistance during non-routine working hours
- Strong organizational skills to assist with the day-to-day operations of the business and organize logistically complex responses/projects
- Experienced in emergency preparedness, air monitoring, environmental assessment/sampling, ICS, SCAT, regulatory compliance (PHMSA, EPA, DOT)
- Experience with railroad, pipeline, and oil & gas-related emergencies
