About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a dynamic team of Emergency Response/Preparedness and environmental professionals
Mentor and guide the team while managing environmental emergencies
Collaborate closely with clients and agencies for effective response and resolution
Engage in business development and client expansion activities
Manage environmental sampling and monitoring programs
Spearhead regional visibility initiatives
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies and procedures
Evaluate the capabilities of staff and identify development needs
Develop and implement functional strategy for the department
Manage client relationships and maintain customer satisfaction
Oversee data collection and analysis activities
Prepare documents that are highly visible, such as press releases and critical audience speeches

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
7+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Environmental emergency response and preparedness
Environmental site assessments and remediation
7+ years of Project Management Experience
Track record of revenue growth through Business Development activities
Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials
Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, team player, and a leader
Strong mentorship and coaching skills to assist with the development of junior staff
Strong delegation skills to ensure that emergency projects are staffed and managed appropriately
Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time (mostly local, some regional)
Being on-call 24/7/365 and responding to call-outs and requests for technical assistance during non-routine working hours
Strong organizational skills to assist with the day-to-day operations of the business and organize logistically complex responses/projects
Experienced in emergency preparedness, air monitoring, environmental assessment/sampling, ICS, SCAT, regulatory compliance (PHMSA, EPA, DOT)
Experience with railroad, pipeline, and oil & gas-related emergencies
