About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Electrical design engineering: Analyze, design, and adapt building electrical installations.
  • Solution design: Provide technical supervision, coordination, review, and design for various building electrical projects; prepare specifications and technical reports.
  • Engineering inspections: Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to assess the quality of engineering work and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures.
  • Knowledge management: Participate in knowledge transfer and serve as part of the building electrical department's continuity plan if desired by the selected candidate.
  • Product and solution development: Assist the senior engineer in defining project scope and service offerings; assist the senior engineer in electrical construction cost estimating.
  • Project management: Coordinate with technician teams and junior team members, aligning efforts of various internal and external stakeholders to deliver electrical design projects across sectors (industrial and institutional).
  • Personal capacity building: Act as a mentor to technicians and junior engineers.
  • Client management (external): Support client management on behalf of more senior account/sales managers using existing client management systems.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered member in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian electrical codes and standards, as well as applicable industry regulations
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience working in a BIM environment
  • Knowledge of ElumTools, AGi32, or ETAP is an asset
  • Interest in mentoring less experienced team members
  • Strong initiative and a high motivation to learn
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
