About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and supervise a team of rock mechanics professionals
- Draft and/or approve technical notes and study reports
- Oversee geological/geophysical modelling and guide exploration well placement
- Develop and/or approve plans and specifications for ground support systems
- Serve as a technical expert, supporting engineers with specialized calculations
- Recommend and implement innovative technical developments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Geological or Civil Engineering
- Graduate degree (master's) with specialization in rock mechanics, soil‑structure interaction, or numerical modelling (an asset)
- Minimum 10 years' relevant experience in rock mass classification and the design of underground or open‑pit excavations
- Registered professional engineer with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Advanced technical report writing skills
- Bilingual (French and English), spoken and written
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
