Intermediate Environmental Professional – Scientist, Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform Phase I to IV Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
- Experience in completion of risk assessments, considered an asset.
- Coordinate field activities that include sampling of groundwater, soil, soil vapour, sediment, surface water.
- Perform oversight of excavation and drilling activities, on occasion.
- Implement and enforce health and safety plans on construction sites.
- Supervision of the activities of site personnel as well as those of subcontractors.
- Interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Project task coordination and ability to manage projects, procure subcontractor, implement/oversee field work, participate in risk assessment and remedial design efforts.
- Technical report writing and proposal development for submission to provincial and federal regulatory authorities.
- Support Project Managers/Business Groups on various environmental and industrial projects.
- Lead internal project teams for multi-media assessments of complex sites.
- Possess strong project management, coordination and planning skills to meet client timelines and budget.
- Support the growth of the environmental practice in Eastern Canada.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or Engineering. A P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation is considered a strong asset.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on ESAs and remediation projects.
- Solid knowledge of both Provincial and Federal environmental regulations and guidelines.
- Familiarity with the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan (FCSAP) or similar federal frameworks is a significant advantage.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment—juggling multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, and traveling to client sites as needed.
- Exceptional communication and technical writing skills.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Flexibility to work variable hours and travel to project sites across Atlantic Canada and occasionally beyond.
