About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and engineer lighting and control systems for new construction and/or renovation
Provide the engineering to develop the construction documents for installation
Select light fixtures and control systems appropriate for the application
Perform lighting calculations using software-based calculation tools
Review and/or establish project scope, budget, design approach, and constraints with the Project Manager or client
Adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule
Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages of lighting, power systems
Produce construction documents per company standards
Communication and work with other disciplines to produce coordinated documents
Conduct field measuring and checking at project site
Review project lighting system submittals for conformance with contract documents
Prepare project cost estimates

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
10+ years related experience in the lighting design and electrical engineering field
Lighting Certification (L.C) required
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
Proficiency in AGI32 and ElumTools Lighting Design Software
Knowledge and application skills for design of facility lighting systems including lighting and power branch distribution
Bluebeam, BIM 360, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) proficiency
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong attention to detail
