About the role
- Collect, clean and transform raw data into usable formats for analysis.
- Develop and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines.
- Configure and manage relational (SQL), non-relational (NoSQL) databases and data warehouses.
- Collaborate with data scientists and other analytics professionals to provide actionable insights.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems.
- Follow and enforce best practices and standards and ensure team members apply them as well.
- Actively identify and mitigate risks and issues in data systems.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience as a data engineer.
- Intermediate knowledge of Spark / PySpark and Azure tools (such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, ADLS, Event Hubs, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI.
- Programming skills in Python.
- Proven experience in data engineering projects.
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases.
- Knowledge of optimization and tuning techniques.
- Ability to follow work standards (DevOps).
- Azure certifications (for example, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
- Databricks certification at intermediate or advanced level (Data Engineer Associate or Professional).
- Strong familiarity with Spark computing tools.
- Solid experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Cosmos, etc.
- Proficiency with event streaming platforms like Event Hubs, Kafka or MSK.
- Track record of technical leadership in projects.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Leadership skills, team mentoring and assertive task delegation.
- Ability to identify problems and drive their resolution.
