About the role
- Lead, coach, and support a team of underwriters, providing regular performance feedback and development opportunities.
- Review and approve complex underwriting cases, including excess liability and high-value property risks.
- Foster strong broker relationships through clear communication, timely service, and consistent follow-through.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve underwriting processes and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance workflow, accuracy, and service delivery.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education or equivalent business experience.
- Completion or active pursuit of the CIP designation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a multi-line insurance professional.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with Guidewire and knowledge of the Mutual insurance industry are considered assets.
