About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the management, planning, and coordination of departmental activities including accounting operations, month/quarter/year-end close activities, and regulatory reporting
Assist with year-end financial statements and footnotes including acting as primary liaison with external financial statement auditors
Manage and work closely with direct reports to coordinate all operations of the accounting department and actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes
Lead, direct and motivate the accounting team
Participate in the development and execution of the annual Department Plan

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA or MBA with knowledge of GAAP is highly preferred
Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience required
At least 7 years in a management or leadership role
Previous financial institution experience highly preferred
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
