About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as a mechanical engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems, Undersea Mission Solutions
- Member of, and may lead, a cross functional team responsible for the development of electronic and mechanical packaging design, and validation
- Conduct structural and thermal analysis, shock and vibration, and design for manufacturability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred, but must be obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Working knowledge of computer aided analysis tools (thermal, CFD, structural), such as Ansys
- Working knowledge of computer aided design tools (3D, 2D, layout), such as Creo
- Experience with small form factor, high power electromechanical elements
- Experience with high-pressure applications, including sealing technologies
- Dynamic Modeling utilizing MatLab
