About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support services as a Database Administrator in support of the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  • Perform routine database backups to ensure data integrity and ad hoc recovery using complex tools and applications.
  • Monitor database usage and performance and schedule necessary improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance in evaluating, customizing, and applying both open source and commercial data management systems, applications and tools used for supporting research.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ph.D. in Statistics or related discipline
  • 11 years of related experience in data management
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
