About the role
- GainwellRx is our solution and business platform to support states and Medicaid members across the country for prescription and drug related business processes and member experiences. The Vice President of Pharmacy Operations will lead teams responsible for clinical operations, prior authorization, clinical insights, industry pipeline and trends, client service models. This senior leader will also interface directly with external state clients and the executive leadership team at Gainwell. Your role in our mission Partners with SVP of Pharmacy to drive clinical insights, business strategy, and operational performance. Sets direction of Clinical Operations team in delivering clinical services for clients. Collaborates across account teams, sales teams, product teams, and other shared service functions. Drives industry best practices and cost model delivery for key operating functions while managing to key metrics of business performance. Accountable for operating performance. Attracts, develops and manages pharmacy clinical talent and oversees central hub of Gainwell’s pharmacist talent. Motivates teams through change and high-profile projects and initiatives. Ensures alignment with company and industry standards. Oversees key initiatives, RFP support, and supports insight development. Drives organizational clinical training. Serves as a key leader in the pharmacy business interfacing with state pharmacy teams and representatives. Ownership of clinical policy for pharmacy and communications tied to clinical policy updates. Responsible for QI, QA, and clinical quality. Oversees drug pipeline and related recommendations. Collaborates on Rx Analytics, AI, and population health management initiatives. Drives new ideas, partners with states on new concepts, and works with teams to deliver models to support them. Supports evolution of organization and key areas of focus.
Requirements
- Degree in pharmacy, or advanced degree with significant experience leading clinical operations.
- 15+ years of pharmacy related experience.
- 10+ years leading large teams and organizations.
- Experience interacting with clients in the healthcare industry.
- Experience in utilization management and prior authorization.
- Track record of leadership of teams and projects spanning people, process, and technology.
- Experience managing departmental budgets and driving process improvement.
- Excellent communications skills, with ability to communicate externally and with senior leaders and c-suite executives.
- Innovative forward thinker with excellent leadership skills.
