About the role

  • Explain G+H drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to fabricators and support them in interpreting the requirements
  • Advise fabricators on production scheduling
  • Respond to technical questions from fabricators regarding drawings or design
  • Review fabricator qualifications, including WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, shop qualifications, and NDT personnel certifications
  • Review material certificates
  • Perform in-process inspections, including weld seam, dimensional, and painting/coating checks
  • Conduct final inspection and acceptance of fabricated goods at the contractor's workshop
  • Review final quality documentation
  • Ensure strict compliance with company EHS policies and procedures
  • Identify and propose process, tool, system, and technology improvements, and roll out changes once agreed with the leadership team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a vocational/apprenticeship qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in metal fabrication shops
  • Knowledge of and experience applying international codes and standards for steel fabrication
  • Analytical and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Basic German language skills
