About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Identify and target new market opportunities, including emerging trends, technologies, and potential clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, government agencies, defense contractors, and industry partners.
- Lead negotiations and close high-value contracts and partnerships.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to adapt strategies accordingly.
- Support alignment of customer gaps with internal IR&D investments
- Drive revenue growth by meeting or exceeding targets and objectives.
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the company's presence in existing markets and penetrate new markets.
- Document and maintain a pipeline of future business targets
- Support the preparation of proposals, bids, and presentations for prospective clients and partners.
- Ensure proposals are aligned with client requirements and company capabilities.
- Travel will be between 25-50%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience leading capture of system development and production work and developing complex technical solutions for government and related industry stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with DoW (DoD) acquisition and proposal process
- Minimum three (5) years’ experience with direct management of complex solutions and development capture efforts for defense community and government clients
- Ability to develop professional engagement materials, including whitepapers, presentations, and media
- Understanding of and experience with DoW (DoD) Contracts
- Ability to quickly demonstrate strong leadership throughout the capture process for internal and external stakeholders
- US Citizen
- Active US Secret Clearance or willingness and ability to obtain US Secret Clearance
- Proven, quantifiable track record of defining and achieving bookings or sales targets
- Must be a nimble self-starter who is excited about technology and has the ability to think out of the box and suggest powerful new ideas.
