Associate, Capital Markets
Funding Circle UKCapital Markets Associate executing funding strategy and building investor relationships for funding small businesses. Leading financial models and transaction processes in a hybrid role based in London.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the transaction execution process for various capital markets transactions, including securitisations (e.g., SBOLT), credit facilities, and loan sales.
- Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of institutional investors (e.g. banks, asset managers, hedge funds).
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to analyse portfolio performance, forecast cash flows, assess potential deal structures, and evaluate the impact on funding costs.
- Prepare regular performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, tracking key metrics, analysing trends.
- Monitor capital markets trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks.
- Build a strong internal network and work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment on capital markets initiatives.
- Support and lead projects and analysis that align with broader lending objectives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years experience in structured finance at a rating agency, investment bank, fintech lender, asset manager or other relevant financial institution
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, STEM, or a related field
- Solid understanding of debt capital markets products and financing structures, particularly securitisation and warehouse facilities
- Advanced Excel and proven experience in financial modelling and analysing large datasets
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a meticulous attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences
- Highly organised with strong project management capabilities, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
