About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provides vision, leadership, management, and supervision of the District’s IT infrastructure
Oversees IT infrastructure leadership, long-range goals, and objectives across data center, systems administration, email, voice/data network, and host/server environments
Directs daily operations of the Infrastructure Services Division
Leads operations of server systems, data networks, and voice/telecommunication systems, including tuning, performance, capacity planning, configuration, design, implementation, maintenance, and cybersecurity
Coordinates integration of data, information, and communication systems
Leads network administration, systems administration, telecommunications administration, and technical client services administration
Ensures compliance with District and IT values, standards, practices, and plans
Provides management direction for new systems development and implementation
Participates in analysis, development, design, and implementation of new information systems and infrastructure
Manages data security, systems and network security, disaster recovery, and business continuity
Serves as internal project lead/manager for large-scale infrastructure projects
Oversees assessment and capacity planning, recommends future purchases, and interfaces with vendors and agencies
Reviews District programs and operations and develops technology strategies for current and future business needs
Leads and supervises network, infrastructure, telecom, and customer support teams
Participates on the OIT Leadership team and contributes to organizational strategy and vision
Establishes and monitors team KPIs/SMART goals
Conducts staff reviews and develops personal development plans
Participates in annual IT budget development and manages Infrastructure Services programs and budget

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, and/or related IT Technology field, or High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of mid to senior-level IT experience in lieu of the degree
Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible Information Technology experience
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
Experience working in an educational organization preferred
Knowledge of technology infrastructure, including network administration, systems administration, telecommunications administration, technical client services administration, and communication
Demonstrated experience with VoIP systems, phone systems, server administration, server virtualization, storage virtualization, cloud environments, complex corporate-type networks, and cybersecurity
Ability to manage financial, material, and human resources effectively
Ability to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to make oral presentations to District leadership, departments, and communities
Ability to keep current on developing technologies and their potential impact on District operations
Ability to collaborate with varied stakeholders and provide effective leadership
