About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide public affairs and communication services to technology-sector companies
- Monitor media and policy developments and prepare regular reports
- Identify and manage team and firm participation at relevant events
- Support organization and development of staffing, pipeline, issues, summit, biography, and case-study documents
- Work cross-functionally with other FTI sectors and practices
- Develop new business proposals, pitch materials, and presentations
- Build understanding of clients’ strategies, services, stakeholders, and competitive landscapes
- Develop and execute integrated communication programs across multiple client accounts
- Conduct complex research and analysis to inform client recommendations
- Identify and research relevant stakeholders and target audiences
- Prepare client-ready memos, press releases, presentations, media summaries, social media content, and email communications
- Evaluate editorial opportunities and engagements
- Track program performance and create progress reports
- Assess project resource needs and coordinate task assignments
- Respond to client challenges and requests
- Identify account-growth opportunities and support project execution
- Keep current on key issues, current events, and relevant industries
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in communications, public relations, political science, international affairs, journalism, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in public policy, strategic communications, public relations, or a related field
- Ability to travel to FTI offices and client sites as needed
- Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; no work visa sponsorship
- Strong understanding of communications strategy and advocacy campaigns
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Advanced research abilities and strong public policy knowledge
- Excellent writing, editing, and oral presentation skills
- Understanding of stakeholder engagement, media relations, and/or policy landscapes
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Service-oriented mindset focused on client satisfaction
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Integrity and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
- Self-motivated, proactive work ethic; ability to work independently and solve problems
- Familiarity with Associated Press Style guidelines
- Proficiency with AI tools, publishing software, and social media platforms such as X and LinkedIn
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Experience in consulting, media, government, or nonprofit organizations
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools such as Factiva or Cision, or analytics platforms
- Experience supporting business development or proposal writing
- Familiarity with industrials or other highly regulated industries
- Exposure to or interest in public opinion research or strategic insights
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-first environment
