About the role

  • As a Business Analyst with a banking focus, you will work on demanding projects for our clients in the banking and financial services sector.
  • You understand business processes, regulatory requirements and bank-specific relationships, and you translate these together with IT and project teams into actionable solutions.
  • You act as the central interface between business units, IT, project management and external partners and provide advisory support to our clients throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Your responsibilities include:
  • Contributing as a subject-matter expert in complex projects within the banking and financial services environment
  • Analyzing, structuring and documenting banking-related requirements
  • Close collaboration with business departments
  • Preparing functional specifications, process descriptions, use cases and decision papers
  • Eliciting requirements and documenting them using user stories
  • Assessing regulatory and business requirements (e.g. MaRisk, BAIT, BCBS, reporting requirements)
  • Translating business requirements into IT-oriented specifications
  • Taking responsibility for functional sub-areas or work packages within projects
  • Supporting test and acceptance processes from a business perspective
  • Advising our clients on process optimization

Requirements

  • University degree or comparable qualification in business, banking, business informatics or financial services
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, functional analyst or consultant in the banking environment
  • Very strong banking domain knowledge, for example in one or more of the following areas:
  • Lending (retail / corporate)
  • Payments
  • Securities and custodial operations
  • Risk management or regulatory reporting
  • Experience in eliciting and modelling business requirements
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and banking supervisory regulations
  • Experience working with IT teams and project management
  • Ideally, knowledge of standard banking applications or SAP
  • Experience with traditional and/or agile project methodologies
  • Analytical, structured working style and a strong quality orientation
  • Excellent communication skills and client advisory competence
  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
