About the role

  • The "Risk and Location Analyses" department/group develops data-driven solutions for companies and public authorities with the goal of enhancing civil security.
  • In these areas, innovative web-based applications based on geospatial data are created to support emergency services in their daily work.
  • To further develop these solutions, we are seeking support in backend development, particularly with GeoDjango.

Requirements

  • You are studying Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Data Science, or a comparable degree program.
  • You have an interest in geospatial data, web backends, and data-driven applications in the context of civil security and site analyses.
  • You have good German language skills to understand and implement technical requirements and project-specific content.
  • You have initial experience with Django/GeoDjango, REST APIs, or relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL/PostGIS); knowledge of JWT authentication is an advantage.
  • You bring solid programming skills in Python or comparable languages.
  • You have basic skills in academic/scientific work and in the structured documentation of development and project results.
