About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Literature & tool research: You analyze approaches in the areas of user guidance, Human-AI Interaction, Explainable AI, User Experience Design, and Digital Twin Engineering.
- Analysis of the OFacT prototype: You examine the existing Open Factory Twin prototype with respect to user guidance, comprehensibility, transparency, and usability, and identify potential improvements.
- Requirements analysis & UX concept: You identify relevant user roles, usage scenarios, and decision points within the Open Factory Twin. Based on this, you develop a user guidance concept for model generation, scenario analysis, and model adaptation.
- Wireframes & interaction design: You create wireframes, user flows, and interaction concepts, e.g., for guided navigation, dashboards, or visual process representations.
- Evaluation: You evaluate your concept using a practical Industry 4.0 use case and derive recommendations for the further development of the Open Factory Twin.
Requirements
What you’ll need- An ongoing master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Media Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field
- Interest in user-centered design, Digital Twins, Industry 4.0, and AI-supported systems
- Initial experience with UX methods, e.g., user flows, wireframes, personas, journey maps, usability analyses, or prototypical interface concepts
- Ideally, first experience with tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe XD, Balsamiq, or similar
- Interest in making complex technical processes understandable, transparent, and intuitive to operate
- Ability to work independently on scientific research as well as an analytical, structured, and solution-oriented working style
- Good written and spoken German and English.
