About the role

  • FPGA development: Design, implementation, and verification of FPGA designs, including simulation and analysis.
  • Experimental work: Conducting experimental investigations to characterize and optimize systems.
  • Control implementation: Implementing and adapting control algorithms on microcontrollers or FPGAs.
  • System collaboration: Working closely with interdisciplinary project teams to ensure system-level understanding.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree (Bachelor) in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Microsystems Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a comparable field.
  • Initial practical experience in FPGA development, microcontroller programming, or implementation of control algorithms.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++.
  • Knowledge of VHDL, Verilog, or SystemC.
  • Fundamentals in optics, electromechanics, and control engineering.
  • Knowledge of numerical mathematics and optimization methods.
  • Initial experience in PCB design is desirable.
  • German and English language skills at a minimum level of B2.
  • Independent and structured working style with curiosity and perseverance when addressing complex technical challenges.
