About the role
- You independently carry out various measurements for material characterization, e.g.: atomic force microscopy (AFM), defect analyses, layer thickness measurements, and the creation of reciprocal space maps (RSM) using high-resolution X-ray diffractometry (HR-XRD).
- You support laboratory work in producing porous silicon and germanium and in the fabrication of silicon and germanium wafers.
- You document and present results both internally and externally.
- You assist with administrative tasks.
Requirements
- You are studying physics, chemistry, crystallography, materials science, or a comparable subject area.
- You have basic physics and chemistry knowledge in the field of semiconductor materials.
- Prior experience in material characterization is helpful but not mandatory.
- You have strong analytical thinking skills and a talent for practical laboratory work.
- Experience operating equipment/machinery is an advantage but not a requirement.
- You approach tasks in a structured and conscientious manner and are motivated to critically examine your results.
- You are keen to contribute to your team and to work across disciplines to achieve shared goals.
- You have basic programming skills.
- You possess very good English language skills.
