About the role
- Perform and further develop advanced MBE processes to realize innovative optoelectronic and electronic devices within national and international research projects.
- Operate a multi-wafer MBE system to fabricate thin-film structures for optoelectronic and electronic devices based on III/V compound semiconductors.
- Develop and optimize existing and new MBE processes to implement novel material combinations and device concepts.
- Plan and execute epitaxy production runs, including documentation and statistical analysis.
- Characterize the produced layers and assess their quality in close collaboration with other research groups and departments at the institute.
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance; coordinate servicing and repair activities.
Requirements
- Completed bachelor's degree or university of applied sciences degree in Physical Engineering, Microsystems Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of hands-on experience operating molecular beam epitaxy systems.
- Enjoy analytical work and scientific problem-solving.
- Physical fitness for occasional work while wearing respiratory protection.
- Team spirit, strong communication skills, and an independent working style.
- Goal-oriented, highly careful and conscientious approach.
- Good command of English.
