About the role
- Continuous improvement and implementation of polishing processes for the machining of reflective optics made of glass and metal for applications in space instrumentation, astronomy and lithography
- Continuous improvement and implementation of processes using tactile and beam-based techniques (MRF, IBF) on glass and metal optics
- Establishment of correction and polishing processes for aspheric and freeform optics
- Application of optical and tactile surface metrology techniques
- Determination, evaluation and documentation of work results
Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision/Manufacturing Engineering, Physics or comparable qualification
- At least 3 years of professional experience in optics and precision manufacturing, including chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP), ion beam figuring (IBF) and/or magnetorheological finishing (MRF)
- Confident user of all MS Office applications
- Good written and spoken German and English skills
- Independent, reliable, structured and methodical working style
- Class B driver’s license desirable
