About the role
- Further development and execution of polishing processes for the finishing of reflective optics made of glass and metal for applications in instrumentation for space, astronomy and lithography
- Further development and execution of correction processes using tactile and beam-based techniques (MRF, IBF) on glass and metal optics
- Establishment and implementation of correction and polishing processes for aspheric and freeform optical surface geometries
- Application of optical and tactile surface metrology techniques
- Acquisition, analysis and documentation of work results
Requirements
- Completed university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision/Manufacturing Engineering, Physical Engineering or a comparable qualification
- At least 3 years of professional experience in optics and precision manufacturing, including Chemical Mechanical Polishing (CMP), Ion Beam Finishing (IBF) and/or Magnetorheological Finishing (MRF)
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Good written and spoken German and English
- Independent, reliable, structured and methodical working style
- Ideally a Class B driver’s license
