About the role

  • You develop methods for analyzing hyperspectral data from airborne and spaceborne sensors with the goal of creating a digital twin for remote sensing and reconnaissance
  • You design and implement demonstration software, including graphical user interfaces (GUI), initially based on a GIS platform (e.g., ArcGIS)
  • You develop intuitive workflows that allow military users to operate the data analysis methods in an understandable and direct way
  • You transfer your research results into practical applications and present them in scientific publications and presentations

Requirements

  • A completed university degree (Master’s) in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable discipline
  • Strong skills in software development (e.g., acquired through coursework, a thesis, internships, or personal projects)
  • Experience with Python for data processing and automation, as well as web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for designing interactive interfaces
  • Desirable: experience in geospatial data processing (e.g., with ArcGIS) and knowledge of C# or C++ for high-performance applications
  • Very good German language skills (C2) spoken and written
