About the role
- Responsibility for the strategic direction and research focus of your group, as well as the development of novel methods, applications and products.
- Acquisition and coordination of relevant projects funded by public grant agencies and industrial clients – including jointly with other organizational units, institutes or cooperation partners.
- Assuming professional and disciplinary personnel responsibility in coordination with the department management.
- Responsible for the professional development of team members and the scientific competencies of the group.
- Defining and aligning the strategic direction of the group with the department management.
- Coordinating projects and cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Designing transfer activities to translate research results into industrial and military applications.
Requirements
- University degree in electrical engineering, information technology, mechatronics or a related field.
- Several years of relevant professional experience in the development of experimental systems.
- Several years of relevant professional experience in radar development (system design and setup).
- Experience in measurement technology for FMCW and multi-channel radar systems.
- Experience conducting and evaluating customer-specific measurement campaigns.
- Proven experience leading industry and public-funded projects.
- Leadership experience in a technical, disciplinary or project management capacity.
- Excellent analytical skills, enjoyment of abstract thinking and conceptual work.
- Experience in project acquisition and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Independent yet team-oriented working style with a hands-on mentality.
- Very good English and good German skills, both written and spoken (C1–C2).
