About the role

  • Further development and optimization of our MES in an innovative environment
  • Functional expansion of the MES and its peripheral systems during normal operations
  • Responsibility for equipment integration, from embedded sensors to database connections
  • Design, implementation and testing of new features and components within a modern, modular web application
  • Adaptation of the institute's IT infrastructure (back-end) with regard to MES usability and interfaces
  • Responsibility for MES operations: monitoring, fault analysis, performance optimization and continuous system maintenance
  • Close collaboration with internal departments as well as partner institutes and suppliers
  • Preparation and delivery of training for key users and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification acquired through vocational training and professional experience
  • Solid experience with MES systems, equipment integration and production control
  • Strong programming skills in software development, ideally in Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or similar
  • Practical experience with web technologies (e.g., REST APIs, HTML5, CSS, frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue)
  • Confident working with databases and related infrastructure (SQL, MongoDB, Kafka/Spark)
  • Knowledge of server administration and network management
  • Analytical thinking and an independent, structured, solution-oriented approach to work
  • Enthusiasm for modern IT and production systems
  • Strong communication skills and a confident presence in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English
