About the role
- Senior Accountant appointment in the Outsourcing Service Line in Athens with client-facing responsibilities
- Work in the areas of accounting, understanding the accounting work and logic behind figures
- Be part of a team of expert advisors who build bespoke solutions according to clients’ needs, from preparing annual statutory accounts to comprehensive management reporting solutions
- Perform tasks to support the financial analysis process, including compiling data from various sources using tools (MS Excel, Power BI) and building advanced reports
- Translate business needs into business and functional requirements for technology solutions implementation
- Ensure month/year-end processes are successfully completed
- Collaborate in a team-oriented environment and develop innovative approaches to solve technical challenges
- Report in a timely and accurate manner to client queries and keep managers informed of issues
- Liaise with other departments for specialist advice and build relationships with clients
- Supervise and train junior staff and raise the firm’s profile by ensuring client satisfaction
Requirements
- BSc in Accounting, Economics or Business (MSc will be considered as a plus)
- Five (5) years of professional experience in a relevant role, ideally in a professional service firm
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualifications (completed or in progress) will be considered as a plus
- Working knowledge of Power Query and Power BI will be considered as a plus
- Excellent knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, finance, tax, investment principles and good knowledge of IFRS
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
- Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
- Willingness for continuous learning and development
- Ability to express ideas verbally and in writing, in a clear, concise, and professional manner (both in English & Greek)
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Positive, confident attitude and communication with people at all organizational levels of the firm and/or client
- Committed to providing excellent quality work and building client relationships with a focus on details
