About the role

  • Implement backend features and services in support of portfolio reporting, analytics, and data ingestion workflows.
  • Work from defined technical requirements to deliver well-tested, maintainable backend code.
  • Build and maintain APIs and backend logic that support frontend applications and internal data use cases.
  • Integrate internal and third-party data sources, helping ensure correctness and consistency of data flowing through the platform.
  • Collaborate with frontend and data engineers to deliver complete product features.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues across development and production environments.
  • Contribute to improving code quality through testing, documentation, and participation in code reviews.
  • Follow established architectural patterns and engineering best practices while developing an understanding of broader system design.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities and timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; commensurate years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional backend or full-stack engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience writing scalable, maintainable code in JavaScript or TypeScript, with a backend focus.
  • Experience building and integrating web services and APIs, including REST and/or GraphQL, HTTP, and JSON.
  • Experience working with cloud-based environments such as AWS or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum or similar).
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with product, frontend, and data partners.
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial or early-stage environment, comfortable operating within a small team. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with financial data, analytics, or investment-related calculations (VC, PE, or B2B SaaS). (Preferred)
  • Experience using AI in day-to-day workflow to increase development efficiency. (Preferred)
