About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist escrow officer with opening, processing, and closing escrow files
- Order title commitments, loan payoffs, and other necessary documents
- Review and prepare escrow instructions, amendments, and settlement statements
- Communicate with clients, lenders, agents, and internal staff regarding status and required items
- Manage incoming funds and disbursements per escrow instructions
- Maintain compliance with state and company regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Familiarity with real estate documents, including purchase agreements, deeds, loan documents, and title commitments
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing instructions, reviewing documents, and balancing files
- Organizational skills to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Problem-solving ability to resolve document discrepancies, title issues, and closing conditions
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to calculate balances and prorations and verify financial figures
- 1–2 years of escrow, title, mortgage, banking, or related real estate experience is usually preferred; entry-level positions may be available with training
