About the role
- Design and implement reliability strategies for databases in distributed domains.
- Automate provisioning, backup, monitoring, and recovery processes for databases.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure best practices in data modeling and performance.
- Maintain observability and traceability of data in SQL and NoSQL environments.
- Contribute to defining standards and data governance policies within the Data Mesh architecture.
- Perform query troubleshooting and tuning, and optimize data structures.
- Manage and optimize database resources on AWS, using services such as RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
Requirements
- Advanced experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Strong expertise in AWS, especially database and infrastructure-related services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Familiarity with domain-driven architecture (DDD) and Data Mesh.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and integration with data pipelines.
- Experience with cloud-native environments and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
