About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the fiber and optics category: transceivers, fiber cabling, and connectivity components at hundreds of thousands of terminations per building.
- Negotiate volume agreements on optics where unit price times quantity makes small percentages worth millions.
- Dual-source transceiver types and manage interop qualification so second sources are real, not theoretical.

- You understand optics well enough (form factors, reaches, compatibility) to catch a spec mismatch before it ships.
- You've qualified second-source components and managed the engineering skepticism that comes with it.
- You track consumption against forecast weekly and correct early.
