About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You develop, deploy and operate a range of Python and Julia services that control flaschenpost's operational processes around the clock and in real time
  • Together with the team you develop and operate applications that make data preparation, model training, optimization and simulation available in production
  • You are responsible for the stability and operation of our systems on modern cloud and data platforms such as Kubernetes, Azure and Databricks, and you diagnose and remediate infrastructure issues
  • You build and improve our observability: meaningful logging, Datadog dashboards and alerts, and tracing across service boundaries

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You have solid experience developing and operating Python services and APIs (FastAPI) in production, and clean, maintainable code is a given for you
  • You have hands-on experience with Kubernetes and are familiar with Azure or comparable cloud providers
  • You are confident using observability tools such as Datadog
  • You have experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps), SQL databases and debugging distributed systems
  • You have initial experience implementing mathematical optimizations, metaheuristics, discrete-event simulations or similar applications
  • You have successfully completed a degree in (business) computer science or a comparable STEM discipline
  • You can explain technical concepts clearly in German and English
  • You enjoy translating analytical problems into innovative solutions
