About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You develop, deploy and operate a range of Python and Julia services that control flaschenpost's operational processes around the clock and in real time
Together with the team you develop and operate applications that make data preparation, model training, optimization and simulation available in production
You are responsible for the stability and operation of our systems on modern cloud and data platforms such as Kubernetes, Azure and Databricks, and you diagnose and remediate infrastructure issues
You build and improve our observability: meaningful logging, Datadog dashboards and alerts, and tracing across service boundaries

Requirements

What you’ll need

You have solid experience developing and operating Python services and APIs (FastAPI) in production, and clean, maintainable code is a given for you
You have hands-on experience with Kubernetes and are familiar with Azure or comparable cloud providers
You are confident using observability tools such as Datadog
You have experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps), SQL databases and debugging distributed systems
You have initial experience implementing mathematical optimizations, metaheuristics, discrete-event simulations or similar applications
You have successfully completed a degree in (business) computer science or a comparable STEM discipline
You can explain technical concepts clearly in German and English
You enjoy translating analytical problems into innovative solutions
