Product Development Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Leading or contributing to end-to-end product development, from concept through to commercialisation
- Collaborating cross-functionally with teams across R&D, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory
- Driving design solutions that balance performance, manufacturability, and patient safety
- Overseeing prototype development, testing, and validation activities
- Supporting design reviews, risk assessments, and technical documentation
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with less experienced engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years’ experience in a relevant engineering environment
- Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong track record of delivering engineering outcomes in complex, real-world settings
- Confident communicator who can work effectively across teams and influence decisions
- A thoughtful, pragmatic approach to problem solving and risk management
- Experience in some or all of the following:
- New product development and product lifecycle management
- Designing and building prototypes, with a hands-on approach
- Manufacturing processes (e.g. injection moulding, DFM/DFA principles)
- Product testing, validation, and technical documentation
- Project leadership or ownership of key workstreams
- Exposure to regulated environments (e.g. medical devices, ISO standards)
