About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Search public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of primarily commercial or industrial property titles
Copy or summarize recorded documents affecting property title
Examine chains of title for a wide range of primarily commercial/residential title orders
Abstract and analyze leases, subleases, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plot and map books
Determine ownership and legal restrictions and verify property legal descriptions and record completeness across county lines
Resolve missing, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory title documentation
Prepare initial title commitment documentation using procedural guidelines
Prepare and review reports for accuracy
Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines
Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years directly related experience
State license(s) if required
Detail / quality orientation
Analytical review skills
Research skills
Strong problem solving skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Customer service orientation
Standard MS skill set
Proficiency with company operating systems
Knowledge of legal terms helpful
