About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Search public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of primarily commercial or industrial property titles
- Copy or summarize recorded documents affecting property title
- Examine chains of title for a wide range of primarily commercial/residential title orders
- Abstract and analyze leases, subleases, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plot and map books
- Determine ownership and legal restrictions and verify property legal descriptions and record completeness across county lines
- Resolve missing, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory title documentation
- Prepare initial title commitment documentation using procedural guidelines
- Prepare and review reports for accuracy
- Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years directly related experience
- State license(s) if required
- Detail / quality orientation
- Analytical review skills
- Research skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Standard MS skill set
- Proficiency with company operating systems
- Knowledge of legal terms helpful
