Lead Collections Specialist
First AmericanLead Collections Specialist ensuring effective operations and performance of the Collections team at ServiceMac. Focused on mentoring, training, and guiding team performance in a customer-focused environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead daily team operations by monitoring queue activity and prioritizing workload
- Perform inbound and outbound collection calls across all stages of delinquency
- Handle escalated or complex customer situations, including delinquency resolutions
- Gather, analyze, and report collections data
- Assist in monitoring team performance metrics
- Provide training, coaching, mentoring, and side-by-side support
- Review and maintain detailed account documentation
- Support the supervisor during absences
- Perform special projects, audits, or analyses as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent
- Typically requires 5+ years of mortgage servicing and collections experience
- Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, or leading others in a collaborative environment
- Strong understanding of collections procedures, best practices, and regulatory requirements
- Working knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and related bankruptcy procedures and regulations
- Proven ability to negotiate payment arrangements and manage conflict
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
