About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a key point of contact on state securities regulation between FINRA and financial services regulators
Monitor, analyze, and track individual state initiatives affecting FINRA or regulated broker-dealers and capital markets
Conduct periodic reporting on state-related issues for senior leaders and make recommendations
Independently prepare comment letters and testimony on state legislative proposals
Recommend and oversee external state lobbying consultants
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and advise FINRA Executives

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS/BA degree
At least 7 years of experience in government relations, securities law, or regulation field
Strong working knowledge of securities regulation
Graduate degree preferred
Strong knowledge of state legislative and government processes preferred
Excellent judgment, analytical, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze and summarize securities laws and position papers
Ability to manage relationships with diverse constituents
Ability to operate in complex operational, technical, policy, and legal environment
