About the role

  • Own and scale the accounting function as the first accounting hire, reporting to the Sr Finance Manager
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping
  • Lead financial closings and prepare investor reporting and regulatory reporting
  • Coordinate with external accountants in France and abroad and challenge their entries as needed
  • Collaborate across teams to streamline financial processes and implement tech-enabled workflows
  • Prepare Finary for regulatory reporting and audits, including crypto-related reporting and segregation of client funds
  • Support alignment of accounting processes with evolving regulatory standards and compliance requirements

Requirements

  • Speak fluent French and operational English (full fluency is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of French accounting standards and bookkeeping
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships, lead closing processes, and handle investor and regulatory reporting
  • Able to record accounting entries directly in accounting tools and challenge entries prepared by external accountants
  • Hands-on, structured approach with a bias for ownership
  • Fluency with accounting tools and spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Eagerness to grow into a high-responsibility finance leadership role
  • Enjoy building efficient, tech-enabled processes from scratch
  • Ability to collaborate closely with Operations, Compliance, and Engineering teams
  • Bonus points if you have experience with Pennylane or similar accounting platforms
  • Bonus points if you have worked in a regulated environment (banking, fintech, crypto)
  • Bonus points if you understand crypto asset accounting and/or regulatory capital frameworks
  • Bonus points if you have managed R&D tax credit (CIR) filings
  • Bonus points if you have experience coordinating with external auditors and preparing for statutory audits
