About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Shape the future of quality: develop and implement test strategies that keep our platforms secure, stable and scalable — covering multiple testing approaches and core needs such as end-to-end testing, API-based testing, unit testing, performance testing, test data management and more
Drive the evolution of test automation frameworks, regression testing, performance testing and exploratory testing
Own our QA tooling and related infrastructure and ensure test automation is seamlessly integrated into modern CI/CD pipelines
Work closely with engineering and product stakeholders to ensure quality is considered from the start
Ensure the test strategy is well defined and consistently applied across domain teams
Set company-wide standards without limiting space for innovation within individual businesses
Provide transparency to leadership (C-level, staff engineers, teams) on current quality status, test quality, test strategy and areas for improvement
Support incident reviews and root-cause analyses (post-mortems) and derive preventive actions from the findings
Collaborate with product managers to identify critical business processes and determine the appropriate level of detail, priority and testing approach for particular business cases
Test a neo-broker platform built on AWS, Java, Angular and Flutter
Lead & inspire a team: share responsibility with the team’s Engineering Manager for the technical leadership of the QA engineers
Coach a team of 5–8 talented QA engineers embedded across different product squads
Foster a culture of curiosity, ownership and continuous improvement
Bring people together: promote knowledge sharing and alignment across the three companies
Ensure QA is not just a safety net but a driver for speed and innovation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of experience as a QA Manager, QA Lead or Head of QA, ideally in a fast-paced environment with multiple products
Deep knowledge of test strategies, automation frameworks and QA platforms
Proven experience defining and driving a test strategy across multiple teams
Hands-on experience (you have written tests yourself) with modern engineering practices and test frameworks: CI/CD, agile development, shift-left testing
Strong leadership and coaching skills — you enjoy supporting people in their development and success
Excellent communication skills: you speak “QA” with testers, “tech” with engineers and “results” with leadership
Passion for building high-quality products that users trust
Experience in the finance/fintech sector and a solid understanding of the financial industry
Fluent in German and English
