About the role

  • Implement and continuously evolve FIFA’s security strategic concepts across all tournaments and events, integrating emerging trends, technologies and stakeholder expectations.
  • Work in close collaboration with all relevant internal departments and divisions, ensuring optimal security conditions for key stakeholders, stadium and venue owners, host associations, LOCs/LFSs, local authorities and third-party partners.
  • Review, refine and enhance security requirements on an ongoing basis, aligning and integrating comprehensive security strategy plans to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of reference for the Director Safety, Security & Access on all security-related matters and represent the function at internal and external engagements.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders — including Accreditation and Access Management and other subdivisions — to drive synergies, efficiency gains and proactive, solution-oriented collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain a continuous risk management strategy for all tournaments and events, including ongoing market analysis of safety and security technologies to ensure best-in-class standards.

Requirements

  • Strong identification with FIFA’s values, demonstrating integrity, accountability and professionalism at all times.
  • Independent, confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • University degree in law, police or military education, or another security-related discipline.
  • Proven track record managing complex international security projects, ideally within major international sports events and with exposure to the African Football Confederation region.
  • Profound knowledge of public and private security structures and responsibilities, particularly within the African region.
  • Minimum five years of experience in major sports competitions (preferably football), with international exposure and familiarity with the global safety and security landscape.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • International driving license and willingness to travel frequently.
