About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build Farther’s design system from the ground up and own it long-term
Define how our entire product organization works—creating the infrastructure for consistent, high-quality experiences
Audit existing design assets and build a scalable, accessible component library in Figma
Create reusable components, design tokens, and detailed usage documentation
Own prioritization, roadmapping, and stakeholder communication for the design system
Define governance processes for adoption, enhancements, and deprecations
Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure design-to-code fidelity and proper implementation
Establish education and onboarding processes that drive real adoption across the team
Provide guidance and support to designers across advisor tools, client platforms, and mobile
Partner with PMs and engineering teams to clarify component usage, patterns, and best practices during feature implementation
Apply systems thinking to help maintain consistency, accessibility, and quality across all product experiences

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of product design experience, including 3+ years leading design systems
Expert in Figma, capable of building scalable component architectures
Deep understanding of design-to-code implementation and cross-platform consistency
Both strategic and executional—able to set vision, define governance, and execute detailed components
Self-directed, highly organized, and skilled at prioritization and stakeholder management
Excited by the challenge of building and maintaining a permanent, enterprise-grade design system
Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
