About the role

Lead your team in applying new technologies and practices, fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation.
Partner with Product Management and other leaders to deliver user-first solutions aligned with FBG’s strategic goals.
Use data and metrics to guide decisions, drive measurable impact, and ensure continuous improvement.
Mentor and grow your team, supporting career development and shaping future leaders.
Oversee the design and delivery of scalable, reliable systems while managing technical debt and performance improvements.
Build strong cross-functional partnerships to influence product strategy and technical direction.
Communicate complex technical ideas and updates clearly to engineers, executives, and non-technical stakeholders.
Stay current on industry trends, bringing forward new ideas to elevate team performance.
Be open to occasional travel for offsite, events, or collaboration sessions (with flexibility for personal needs).

2+ years in engineering leadership, with proven ability to mentor and inspire technical excellence.
7+ years in software development, ideally with Java and AWS or similar cloud technologies.
3+ years designing cloud-native systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Strong background in Agile delivery, with experience driving process improvements across teams.
Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
Team-first mindset, results-oriented, and adaptable to high-growth, fast-changing environments.
Track record of delivering complex, scalable solutions with a focus on customer experience.
Preferred: Experience in the sports, gaming, or content delivery industries.
Preferred: Proficiency with Kotlin, Java, and/or Go.
Preferred: Expertise in event-driven architectures and messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, Amazon SQS).
Preferred: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
Preferred: Comfort working across diverse codebases (legacy and greenfield) in multiple languages and environments.
