About the role
- Lead design from discovery to deployment as a mid-weight Service Designer for Government and Public Sector projects.
- Conduct user research during the discovery phase of projects.
- Create user journey blueprints to explore and describe the service or operational environment.
- Build and test prototypes (digital and non-digital, e.g., policy ideas or processes).
- Work closely with clients and colleagues in multi-functional teams.
- Guide and train others in the organisation on service design methods and practices.
- Champion user-centred design across projects and the broader Faculty team.
- Operate autonomously and provide thought leadership in user research and product strategy.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Service Designer in a Government context or on public service design challenges.
- Ability to work autonomously and hold your own in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Strong mix of strategic and analytical skills.
- Experience working deeply with technology within multifunctional teams that have deployed products or services; experience of or a passion for AI is an advantage.
- Willingness to mentor and teach others service designer best practice.
- Eligible for Security Clearance: lived in the UK for the past 5 years continuously (role requirement).
