About the role

  • Own the end-to-end implementation of data solutions, from problem definition to production deployment
  • Design scalable data models and pipelines that support business-critical use cases
  • Improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of our Databricks environment
  • Lead technical decisions around data architecture and implementation patterns
  • Ensure production-grade quality through testing, code review, observability, and monitoring
  • Partner with functional teams to clarify requirements and deliver 1–2 high-impact data solutions
  • Review the current data platform and produce a short, actionable improvement plan
  • Build and productionize core datasets in Databricks across Bronze/Silver/Gold

Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills (query optimization, partitioning, performance tuning)
  • Strong Python skills
  • Experience building and deploying jobs in Databricks
  • Solid understanding of distributed data processing
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Ability to independently design and implement end-to-end solutions
  • Comfort using Bash and cloud CLIs (AWS/Azure)
  • Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) preferred
  • Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines preferred
  • Experience deploying databases or services in cloud environments preferred
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) preferred
  • Understanding of Lakehouse architectures preferred
  • Strong system design fundamentals preferred
  • Open-source contributions preferred
