About the role
- Assist in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water/wastewater systems, and other infrastructure projects.
- Design and assist with design of stormwater facilities
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess project requirements.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Perform calculations and analyses to support project designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
- Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Use WWHM for site modeling and stormwater facility design
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification.
- Interested or already has obtained Washington State PE
- 2+ year of engineering experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD and MS Office Suite (preferred but not required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Internship or co-op experience in a civil engineering environment (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices preferred.
- Familiarity with WWHM2012 is preferred
- Familiarity with the Department of Ecology Stormwater Manual for Western Washington
