About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take end-to-end ownership of complex software models and specialized simulation applications
  • Make design decisions, guide integration and validation, resolve challenging technical issues, and support the growth of other engineers
  • Analyse and decompose complex technical documentation for aircraft, helicopters, combat vehicles, ships, and related systems, components, instruments, and indicators
  • Own software design decisions and prepare design documentation
  • Develop maintainable, reliable, and testable C/C++ software models, including instrument and indicator graphics and communication with host or driving applications
  • Design and develop user interfaces using Qt, .NET (C#), MFC, or other relevant APIs, integrating with C++ environments
  • Develop specialized applications for simulation-industry requirements and contribute to architecture decisions for multi-component solutions
  • Define and execute stand-alone and integration tests, troubleshoot defects, and support deployment, system integration, acceptance, and validation
  • Lead or contribute to design reviews, code reviews, technical estimates, planning, and delivery-risk identification
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements, communicate trade-offs, and align technical solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote effective engineering, documentation, testing, and Agile practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or another relevant technical field
  • Relevant experience with C++ and strong proficiency in STL, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
  • Good understanding and practical implementation of mathematical algorithms
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Proficiency in MS Office package for technical and software design documentation
  • Familiarity with SVN and Git, Jira and Confluence, and Agile development practices
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Strong team-working and collaboration skills
  • Availability to travel locally and internationally for various project assignments
  • Experience in airspace engineering, including familiarity with aviation-related concepts, systems, and data (desired)
  • Experience with simulation systems and hardware/software system integration (desired)
  • Experience diagnosing integration issues across multiple software components (desired)
  • Knowledge and practical experience with 3D graphics and rendering technologies, including OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, or similar frameworks (desired)
  • Experience with React or Python for web-based applications and user interfaces (desired)
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot for source-code development, software design, testing, and documentation generation (desired)
