About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design sheet metal forming tools including: Progressive dies, Transfer dies, Compound dies, Deep drawing tools, Bending and forming dies
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Define die layouts, strip layouts, and tool configurations
- Develop strip layouts, calculate material utilization, and optimize production efficiency
- Perform simulations (using tools like AutoForm, PAM-STAMP, or similar)
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and tool specifications
- Support tool fabrication, assembly, and trial runs
- Ensure tools meet dimensional and quality requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering and Tool Engineering / Tool & Die Making (Addon Subject) Production Engineering GTTC or NTTF Tool Engineering / Tool & Die Making
- Strong knowledge of: Sheet metal forming processes (blanking, bending, drawing, embossing)
- Tool steels, heat treatment, and material behavior
- Proficiency in CAD software: NX / CATIA / Creo / SolidWorks/ AutoCAD
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Understanding of press operations and manufacturing processes
